Burlington Synchro’s Novice and Recreational Extravaganza

On Saturday, February 11, 2017, Burlington Synchro is hosting their Extravaganza Invitational at Burlington Centennial Pool, 5151 New Street Burlington, ON L7L 1V3. Our Recreational swimmers will be participating in the Trillium and Routine events and our Novice athletes will be participating in the Routine events.

Recreational swimmers will swim individually in the Trillium portion; they will require a one‐piece bathingsuit (preferable black or another solid colour) an unmarked bathingcap (no team/club logos). A noseplug and goggles are also greatly encouraged. Swimmers will receive a passport with stickers based on their performance of each skill; they are not ranked, but rather the event is a fun introduction to the figure meet structure. No jewellery (except MedicAlert) is to be worn; therapeutic taping is permitted if needed. Swimmers should wear their Halton Hills gear (i.e. t‐shirt, jacket and black bottoms) for stretching and awards. Swimmers should also bring a yoga mat for stretching. All swimmers will swim their primary routines to music as a team, duet or solo (secondary duets/solos are not swimming in this event); they will wear their routine suit and a provided bathing cap.

Novice swimmers will not wear goggles, but will wear routine makeup (require own waterproof black mascara and eyeliner). All swimmers are encouraged to wear a noseplug and Novice swimmers should keep a spare noseplug tucked in their bathingsuit. Routines will be recognized in one of three categories. Swimmers should arrive in their Halton Hills Synchro team wear (club t‐shirt, black bottoms) with their hair tied back neatly in a pony‐tail or bun. Novice swimmers will wear their yoga‐jacket for awards. Swimmers may leave between events if time permits; please check with a coach regarding where to meet up for landdrilling.

Parents will not be permitted on deck, but may observe from the stands (standard admission is typically $5/adult).
